Converting an East and West bra to point forward

I'm told there's a way of altering an East and West bra to make it point forward more. Could someone post a link to some sewing instructions please?

I have no idea what this is.

I think it's a name given to bras that support boobs that point in different directions?

It's some kind of alteration to make the bra have more forward projection rather than East and West projection which makes them look too wide across your body.

I would love to know this!

I'm talking about the type of bra that makes your breasts point out to the side rather than forwards. I HATE them and larger breasts look particularly awful in them. I've seen a couple of people mention there's a way you can sew them in the middle to bring the centre wires closer together, making the projection go more forwards rather than sideways. I really don't know how to explain it any better than to say it's an alteration that changes the projection of the bra.

Get yourself a Triumph Doreen, they are like a pair of canons.

MorrisZapp · 24/01/2020 18:45

The best forwards pointing bras are Fantasie. Total game changer.

Ginfordinner · 24/01/2020 18:47

Can't you just buy a new bra?

bsc · 24/01/2020 18:48

I agree with@MorrisZapp- fantasie side support. Expensive but best bras in the world! Often have them on ebay- new, but last season's colours etc, can work out at much more reasonable prices.

fatoneatthegym · 24/01/2020 18:50

It is a Fantastie bra and it looks ridiculous! Not all Fantasie bras have the same projection. I can't return it as I've already worn it. That's why I'm looking to alter it.

I'd suggest going to a dressmaker and see what can be done. I think it could be altered by tightening up the centre seam to pull the cups into a more forward projection, but I'm not sure how that would affect the fit of the bra. Good luck !

MorrisZapp · 25/01/2020 11:39

If ordering Fantasie, the key term is 'side support'. I pay about twenty quid on ebay for mine, they leave all others in the dust.

fatoneatthegym · 25/01/2020 11:45

It is a side support bra.

I'm just looking for some sewing instructions.

Surely go ask on the thread or wherever you saw people mention that they can be sewn then...
