What dose of quetiapine

What dose of quetiapine requires an ecg? Thinking of asking for an increase on the dose I take but don’t want to have an ecg so will not increase the dose if it involves that.

Hi busyweeks78,

Unsure of what dose increase needs an ecg however quetiapine causes prolonged Qtc which means you are at risk of an arrhythmia in the heart.

My mam is on quetiapine 12.5 mg twice a day. She doesn't need to get ecgs regularly.

Its only a tracing of the heart. It doesn't hurt. Takes less than 5 minutes. Is there a reason you don't want the test?

I take 300 mg of quetiapine. I had an ecg initially and a blood test after a couple of months. I have semi regular bloods and keep on eye on my health.

Thank you an ecg is just something I’m not comfortable with.

Hi busyweeks,

Why don't you visit your doctor and have a chat if possible.

If you feel you need to increase your quetiapine as it is not working then maybe you may need a medication change that will work better for you.
Tazzy.
