I can't relate, but congratulations 🥳 hope your body is enjoying the break!!

DanceToTheMusicInMyHead · 23/01/2020 21:40

Fantastic! Enjoy your body. After waiting for ds to self wean (unsuccessfully) I'm starting to wean him off and that will be my body back for the first time in over 6 years.. can't wait!!

BlueRaincoat1 · 23/01/2020 21:45

Thank you! I am trying to persuade myself to have a 'moment' where I think of how lovely it's been etc, but nope, I am delighted. DELIGHTED!

Both dc had/have cmpa, so I just stuck with it for ages. 2 years with my first , stopped when I was pregnant, and 17 months with the second. He has recently decided he'll drink soya milk from a sippy cup, so we just tried it tonight, and it was fine!

Haha brilliant @BlueRaincoat1, enjoy your booby freedom! Smile

I got pregnant with my first at 20 and breastfed her until she was 17 months (bringing me to 22) - I then fell pregnant again but lost the baby at 12 weeks (bringing me to 23) and immediately fell pregnant for the third time three weeks after the loss. I gave birth to my second three weeks ago and am breastfeeding again, and I turn 24 next month.

I'll be breastfeeding her for roughly the same amount of time as I fed my first which would bring me to the total age of 25 once I finally finish. Shock
As much as I love being pregnant and breastfeeding I'm sure I'll definitely be as happy as you when I get a proper break! Grin You enjoy it!

DownWhichOfLate · 23/01/2020 22:10

Nice one! I’ve been pregnant and/or breastfeeding for over 6 years now....

BlueRaincoat1 · 23/01/2020 22:13

Hi Pasta and Dancetothemusic

Its a long time isn't it... I hope my little DS is fine with it, tonight when much better than I had expected or hoped, but my god I was ready to be done.

I do honestly feel tremendously lucky and grateful that I was able to breastfeed for so long, and that I had two relatively straightforward pregnancies (although 8 months pregnnant in a massive heat wave was pretty crap) but I am ready to move on from this stage.

I am not at all intending to have any more children, and I suppose this is a particular chapter which is ending now.

Twistybottomsclickytops · 23/01/2020 22:14

I did the maths on mine the other day, and figure that, assuming the final one feeds for as long add the others, and assuming no accidental further pregnancies, it'll be 8yrs or so that my body has been occupied by or sustaining other humans...

I'm planning a celebratory mini break by myself, seeing as nobody will be needing me then ;)

Congratulations on your new freedom! Enjoy!

BlueRaincoat1 · 23/01/2020 22:16

Oh and congratulations on your new baby Pasta! I hope everything is going well.

6 years Downwhich! How many children do you have?

OP posts:
BlueRaincoat1 · 23/01/2020 22:19

8 years Twisty Shock ! Amazing.

I am also thinking I would like to mark it somehow, but I'm not sure how. It may involve being by myself somewhere very quiet...

OP posts:
DownWhichOfLate · 23/01/2020 22:19

I just have the two Shock. But one fed until the other was born (and a short while after as well).

DownWhichOfLate · 23/01/2020 22:20

Buy yourself all the nice non maternity / breastfeeding clothes!

ColourMyDreams · 23/01/2020 22:21

Good stuff OP 👍
It's great not to be heaving a bump around.
I would have done a cartwheel down the street when I had my final one if my body would have let me. 😁
I seemed to be pregnant forever.

DramaAlpaca · 23/01/2020 22:22

Enjoy your freedom Smile

I was either pregnant, breastfeeding or both for about the same amount of time, so I know exactly how you feel, even though it's a long time ago now.

Sparrowlegs248 · 23/01/2020 22:23

5 yrs 1 month for me. It's very nice to have my boobs back.

stophuggingme · 23/01/2020 22:24

I am so jealous!
Well done and enjoy

Since June 2013 I have either been pregnant or breastfeeding
I am still breastfeeding as i type this Grin

ColourMyDreams · 23/01/2020 22:27

Forgot to add that I didn't breast feed any of mine, although there was only a gap of 3-4 months between them all.

BlueRaincoat1 · 23/01/2020 22:32

That is hard work ColourMyDreams!

Wow stophuggingme - fair play to you.

Maybe I will get myself some nice new clothes. I did get some new work stuff when I went back to work 6 months ago, but haven't really bought any 'me' clothes in ages. For me, the pregnancy/breastfeeding cycle has made me feel to a degree that my body hasn't really been for me, and I haven't made that much of an effort with myself all of the time.

Maybe I'll see if I can find a sense of style in there somewhere.

AppropriateAdult · 23/01/2020 22:32

Totally get it, OP; I’ve been pregnant or breastfeeding - or both - for more than six years now. Currently expecting #3 so have a few more years of it to look forward to, but after he/she finally gives up the boob I’m going to buy myself some really nice bras!

jpclarke · 23/01/2020 23:04

Nearly 7 years for me!! My eldest is 6, and have been pregnant or/and breastfeeding for the past 7 years baby is only 11 weeks so a long way to go yet!! But I wouldn't change it, haven't even tried him with a bottle this time. The hardest is being pregnant and breastfeeding at the same time.

Bythebeach · 23/01/2020 23:11

Enjoy OP - revel in the freedom!

God-this thread made me work out how much of my life I was pregnant/breastfeeding! 5 years 6 months from conception first to ending feeding second. Then a 2 year gap before 4 years 2 months pregnant and feeding number 3...,,.I hadn’t realised Id spent a decade pregnant or feeding.... no wonder I feel like a total hag.

pumpandthump · 23/01/2020 23:17

Yay! Brilliant for you. I had a 6 week period where I didn't breastfeed and wasn't pregnant before it started again!

Walkerbean16 · 23/01/2020 23:22

Urgh i have been pregnant/breastfeeding for NINE YEARS.

(With a little break inbetween numbers 2 and 3)

I cant seem to ever get them off the boob.

Walkerbean16 · 23/01/2020 23:24

On the plus side, i must have saved a small fortune in formula and sanitary products Grin

BlueRaincoat1 · 23/01/2020 23:56

You lot are seriously impressive, I take my hat off to you all!

(I have no intention of trying to emulate you however, if my ds will stick with the cup for the next few nights, I am definitely not looking back...)

OP posts:
Babyiwantabump · 23/01/2020 23:58

I have just finished 6 years of breastfeeding - fed DS1 till he was 3 and a half and DS2 till he was 3 and a half and tandem fed them both together for a year and a half .

It feels so good to have my body back for me!!
