What would you spend a £50 amazon voucher on?

As the title says really. I have 2 toddlers so normally only buy practical baby or household stuff. It's a gift though so i just wanted ideas of something nice i can buy for me. I like reading but already have kindle unlimited. Also into running and pilates but have all the gear i need.

Could you do a grocery shop/buy something you were going to buy anyway then use the cash you would have used for something you actually want?

supercee · 22/01/2020 19:30

I got a £50 voucher for changing broadband ages ago. Completely forgot about the deal until it came through and couldn't think for the life of me what to get. Usually have no problem spending 50 quid on amazon.

I ended up getting a sodastream! I love it. I'm trying to cut down my alcohol intake this year and I love ice cold sparking water with lime. I hate lugging back big bottles of sparkling water (which loses its fizz by the end) and the amount of plastic used is silly.

Fizzy water on tap. So far so good!

Kindle books, stuff that isn't on unlimited.

Or I'd leave it on there and it would get used up as and when.

I spent a voucher on a stack of books. But I see you already have a kindle. I nearly went for new running stuff instead but am currently injured! How about putting it towards new trainers, all runners need fresh trainers regularly.

MuttsNutts · 22/01/2020 19:36

I want a Himalayan Salt Lamp but can’t justify buying one so would be ideal if I had a voucher!

cheeseandcrackers · 22/01/2020 19:40

New boxset that you don't have a subscription for? I haven't seen the latest GoT series but don't want to spend £20+ on it, but might if I had a voucher.. and a massive box of Ferrero rocher...
Also love my new Echo show if you don't have one...

Twistybottomsclickytops · 22/01/2020 19:42

I'd probably get DVDs /box sets. Amazon is often cheaper than elsewhere for these, and so I'd use the opportunity to stock up on things I know I'd watch over and over (not gonna say what those things are, because I will be judged Wink )

Lllot5 · 22/01/2020 19:46

I’ve just spent most of mine on books. Still got some left, but mostly gone.

Gin, and have it delivered within the hour!

A travel coffee mug with a cafetière plunger in it. I bought one for a friend at Christmas for £15 and am hinting heavily for someone to get me one. I love real coffee but would never make a cafetière full for myself home alone.

So coffee mug, some nice coffee, and maybe save the rest for a rainy day!

A fitted fleecy electric blanket

survivingdad · 22/01/2020 20:12

I'd get a nice beauty or hair product as I'm always putting kids first!

Purpleartichoke · 22/01/2020 20:15

If I didn’t have a gift item I wanted, I would just spend it on one of the many boring household or child items I buy on amazon. Then I’d take the money and spend it wherever I wanted.

But normally amazon has what I want for gift items which tends to be craft supplies.

Whatsthekey · 22/01/2020 20:39

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I love the travel cafetiere mug idea! I don't buy luxuries often so am adamant i'm going to buy something frivolous with it!

I won a £50 amazon voucher so I bought-

Oral B electrical toothbrush £20 (first ever electric brush and it is absolutely amazing, wish I’d bought one years ago)

Olay regenerated cleanser and electric cleansing brush £15 (been using for 3 weeks now and already a huge difference in my skin)

Olaplex £15 (amazing hair treatment, my hair is shiny and silky now!)

My New Years resolution was to take care of myself and these buys have really made a difference I love them.

BikeRunSki · 22/01/2020 22:27

If save it until I next needed new running shoes, and put it towards them.

Ninkanink · 22/01/2020 22:35

Right now? A couple of books on needlework and some crafting supplies.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 22/01/2020 23:54

Anker Soundcore 2 Bluetooth speaker. I did a phone survey and they gave a voucher. Lovely thing, rich bass and completely waterproof.

BrowncoatWaffles · 23/01/2020 08:37

@Whatsthekey It's actually down to £13 at the mo... I'm seriously tempted too now! ;) www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0042RU4XU/ref=twister_B00GMGTILI?psc=1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=mumsnetforu03-21
