Good hotels in London

Raspb3rry · 22/01/2020 11:44

I'm looking for a nice hotel to stay in in London. Can anyone recommend me one? I'd like to be close to the river, not too far out. Very open to location but within zone 2. Good breakfast is a must!

Thanks!

Depends on what your budget is

Can sometimes get good deals on sites lie Hotels/Bookings.com for The Sea Containers, which is lovely and on the South Bank. I went in early Jan and paid £160 a night, which was significantly discounted.

I love Z hotels - there are quite a few in central London. Rooms are small, but if you're out 'doing' London, that doesn't matter (and you can upgrade to a larger room). Beds are super comfy and everything is modern and slick. The staff are always lovely too (one in particular was super-helpful when my diabetic husband was having a hypo late at night and I was desperately hunting sugary snacks).
I've stayed at the one on Fleet St (great for both the St Pauls area and the West End); Gloucester Place (walkable from Marylebone) and Shoreditch. And will be staying at the Trafalgar one tonight!

Breakfast is a great selection (I think it's continental rather than hot, IIRC) - all tasty and fresh.

I had a fab night recently in the Z Hotel on the Kingsway. I'd highly recommend it if you are on your own.

The Corinthia is stunning - I stayed there on a soft opening. OMG.

I like the Charing Cross hotel.

I always stay at Premier Inn Hub: Goodge St.
If you want a wonderful breakfast, The Pullman at Euston is great. Nothing to look at on the outside, smart and comfortable on the inside. The breakfast was so varied, you could even get multiple types.of baklava.
You might get it in budget out of peak times.
