I'm only up to series 1 episode 4 so please don't spoil it for me
I'm really enjoying it and it's fantastic to have a programme like that mainly set in the north east! However I have questions:

  • how come the sun plasma stuff affected France hours before it affected the UK and in fact planes were dropping out of the sky before the scientist guy confirmed it was the bad polarity sort?
  • why does no one have a loud hailer? Why don't the north east police have guns or tasers? I know they generally don't now but in this situation surely someone from Manchester could have got a vanful to them?
And finally
  • if that hospital is meant to be in Newcastle and those crowds are geordies how come they're all wearing coats?
I despair, I really do :o

Saw the first episode tonight and it's made a promising start, but I need to watch the next episode to be sure.

Grinabout proper Geordies not wearing coats.

Speaking as a Northerner, of course.

Good question. Sky, but we have now TV which apparently is the same thing?!

I was looking forward to it after the first episode - wondering how we would fare if the lights went out and didn't come back on , and the plane crash was very realistic - but sadly we have gone off at a tangent with dying demented rellies, lonely doggies, death from overdose, long lost lover, rampaging immigrants, etc etc. The original idea was fine without all this bollox - some of us can watch for more than 5 mins without needing a new storyline to hook us.

Oh I don't mind that. Other stuff happens even in a crisis. And the dad died as a result of the dark.

And don't we all love a sad cockapoo?
I couldn't believe he handed the baby to the woman strapped into a damaged plane, above a huge fiery fall, who was likely to have spinal damage. That was the other point where I thought NO!
The pictures of the crash were very realistic and devastating

I think I liked it. Watched all 6 over the weekend, but something was odd about it.
Maybe because it was kind of sci fi-ish but could actually happen?
