Calling all self-employed medical transcribers...

If there are any of you here! Smile

I'm interested in which agencies people might work for other than Dict8 and Accuro, I am looking to broaden my client base.

I currently do quite a lot for Accuro. The flexibility is great and there is always plenty of work, but the pay isn't fabulous. Dict8 currently do not have anything to suit experience.

I specialise in ophthalmology and orthopaedics if that might make a difference.

Are there any other larger medical agencies which I am missing?

TIA

Can I ask how you got into this type of work? Do you have a particular qualification? Thanks Smile

@heartofglass12345 I actually started as a legal transcriber whilst at University. I worked for a law firm and picked up extra work from other firms in the area, typing letters etc. Many years later I now work for the NHS, but I still privately type. I find that medical transcription work tends to pay better and is more readily available. I have no particular typing qualifications, just oodles of experience in various types of transcription, including property, focus group, interview, multi-speaker and, as mentioned above, legal and medical.

Thanks 😊 I'm looking for options lol, I used to be a nurse but I haven't worked for a while after having my kids and don't want to go back to nursing, but stumped at what else to do as it's all I've ever known!
Sorry for jumping on your thread and being no help though Blush
