In admiration of the actors who don't generally get the leading roles

I'm a huge tv and film fan, mainly tv but film too.

I'm finding as I get older maybe? That I am more admiring of the actors I see doing great jobs in the supporting roles but receiving little praise or acknowledgement for such.

I'm currently watching a mix of ER, Bosch and madam secretary.

I love looking up actors I recognise on IMDb and frequently note that the ones I like best often have hundreds of roles under their belt yet rarely have they received awards or accolades because the roles are pretty minor.

They should be recognised I think.

Based on what I'm currently watching I'm thinking of

Linda cardellini
Micheal Michele
Abraham Benrubi
Garrett dillahunt
Amy Aquino
Leland orser
Yvettte Freeman
Zeijko ivanek

There are loads more.

Who are your actors that you see, you don't necessarily remember the actors name straight off because they're not that well known BUT you know the face and as soon as you see them you're like

Oh this will be a good episode/film because I LOVE that actor...

But they won't have been one of the actors mentioned in the promo material?

Almost but not quite unsung heroes.

Leland Orser has been in loads of things- Saving Private Ryan and Berlin Station, for example - but I'd completely forgotten he was in ER until I rewatched it. Now he's everywhere!

Mother Superior from Dracula was in The Thick of It and shes also been in everything.

The ones I admire are the stuntmen and women, whose faces you never see, and who get a tiny mention way, way down the cast & crew list if they are lucky.

Love Leland orser, yes he's in a lot - thats my point, actors who do a lot of work but don't get loads of fame/recognition.

The kind of actors when you see them you go "oh I know them! What's their name?"

And yes stunt performers should get more recognition too that's a really tough job, not only regarding the stunts but also having to be good mimics of the actors they're standing in for when that's the case.
