Anyone got rid of hyperpigmentation/red marks from prior acne?

If so, how?

I have dark skin by the way.

Heard so many reviews of peels etc that sound negative.

Tried and tested ones only - looking for permanent, quick-ish results. Willing to pay ££.

Have you tried rose hip oil? Trilogy do a good one.

Oops missed the quickish part. You're probably wanting a carbon peel or ipl then.

whatever you do you need to do it for two months to see results. I’ve been using glycolic avid recently and have noticed a real improvement in old scars. It took about two months to really show though.

Combination of pulsed dye laser (for the redness) plus hydroquinone - at a least 6 week course of topical hydroquinone before moving on to 3-6 sessions of the laser, whilst continuing with the hydroquinone.

Unfortunately anything that gives you quick results with a darker skin type is likely to leave you with post inflammatory hyperpigmentation which is basically what you are trying to get rid of!

The ordinary's peeling solution

You should ask on the style and beauty threads. I have just purchased the ordinary niacinamide 10% with 2% zinc (recommended on a YouTube video by a guy who was suggested on style and beauty ) which apparently helps with acne/scarring. I'm on day 2 so no immediate results. I also purchased a derma roller which I am going to use 2 x weekly until I can get my skin used to it.
