If you grew up in the 90s, what were your most treasured toys?

Mine were Puppy in my Pocket, followed by Kitty in my Pocket and Pony in my Pocket (they went too far with Teddy in my Pocket IMO)

I also loved Polly Pocket. My favorite was this huge purple heart-shaped one which opened to reveal a castle which lit up.

In the late 90s I remember caring so lovingly for my Tamagotchi Grin and telling all my secrets to My Electronic Diary.

Oh the memories. It was a simpler time back then!

What do you fondly remember as a child of the 90s?

I was 6 in 1990 and 16 in 2000 so I did truly grow up in the 90s. I didn’t have a lot as my mum and dad weren’t very well off but I remember having a tamigotchi. I also remember having a fashion wheel which I loved, the creamy greasy makeup kits and the game whack attack (which I still have!).

Kitty, Puppy, Teddy and Pony in my Pocket here as well! I had all of the cats and dogs, most of the bears and some of the ponies. DD(5) has them now and loves them.

Teeny Weeny Families was another favourite. Collected all of those over time. Like Polly Pocket (which I also loved) but animals. Couldn't bend their legs, though.

Also Sindy. I did like Barbie and had a few, but Sindy was my favourite. I wasn't mad about dolls but I did like those, Baby Get Well and Baby All Gone. The cherries disappearing on the spoon blew my mind at the time!

Oooooo just remembered the Littlest Pet Shop (which I think has recently been reincarnated). I had the little parrot which you could stick on a ring so it looked as though the parrot was sat on your hand!

Otherwise Lego, knex and barbie

MsMiaWallace · 13/01/2020 16:11

I loved pound puppies!
Trolls too.

ReginaGeorgeous · 13/01/2020 16:30

Does anyone remember Allders department store bringing out different cuddly toys each Christmas? I had the two in the photos and I also remember having a family of bears as well as the dogs.

I had Trolls with scented hair, tamigotchis, My Little Ponies with the stable that had all the little hats you could put on them, duplo and my favourite thing of all was a Quaddro climbing frame that was plastic tubes so you could change the shape and build what you wanted.

Screw ball scramble
Pogs and slammers

Barely had spare money for toys but I remember having these and always played with them.
Rest of the time, I was street raking on my bike or pogo stick, or playing Kerby with my neighbor's ball and with my friend or just plain up reading or practicing drawing.

Happy daysSmile

I don't remember what they were called but it was a plastic case with a large gem on it. You opened it up and unfolded a head, arms and legs. It came with a cord so you could wear it round your neck.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 13/01/2020 16:48

I had one of those Kondo. Little doll with yellow hair.

I loved keypers. I had the pink bunny one.

BabloHoney · 13/01/2020 16:49

My sister and me both loved Fluppets!

FiveFarthings · 13/01/2020 18:57

Oh I loved Pogs! Do you remember Tazos that you used to get in Walkers crisps?

Spoonsmum · 13/01/2020 19:09

Keypers! I had the swan and the snail.
I was also undefeated house champion at Screwball Scramble. I loved it
I also loved Lights Alive and my absolute favourite was My Little Professor which was a calculator that asked maths questions. Wish I still had that

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 13/01/2020 19:11

My favourites were Cassie dolls. About three-quarters of the size of a Barbie, came with horses, and, crucially, had legs that opened outwards so they could sit on said horses. Unlike Barbie.

My sister had a Cycling Sindy. She could also horse ride, but had giant hands to hold the bike handlebars.

BackyardChickens · 13/01/2020 19:14

Polly Pocket and Tamagotchi

NemophilistRebel · 13/01/2020 19:15

PS - anyone who still has a stash of their lolly pockets stores at their parents or in your lofts - they are worth quite a lot now for the original 90’s ones

Gogolego · 13/01/2020 19:15

Teddy bears
Doll
Dolls house
Polly pocket
Lego
This doll which you drew on - doodle doll?

TanselleTooTall · 13/01/2020 20:18

Oh I remember Tazo's all right! Back when crisp packets were awesome. Pull out a little plastic packet all greasy from the seasoning! (lick it all off) open and marvel at a new addition to the collection. Chupa chups pogs were awesome, too. All psychedelic.
I remember it was a very rare treat to get mini snickers (kind of half the size of a normal snickers and a bit slimmer if I remember right) from the Navvy (army brat), which had a Pog inside.

I still feel annoyed at the cow who nicked my Pog collection. I left them at her house and she lied that they weren't there. Angry

CumbriaLove · 13/01/2020 20:57

I can't believe I forgot about Whack Attacks!

I had Dream Phone which I loved at the time, although I'm cringing at the idea now!

Did anyone else have those cupcakes that you flipped and they were a doll or something on the other side? I seen to vaguely remember they may have been scented too?

FiveFarthings · 14/01/2020 13:03

Oh yes I remember the cupcake dolls! I can’t remember what they were called though!

Also loved Sky Dancers. It was an impressive feat to make them fly and catch them upright in your hand whilst they were still twirling!
