Any childminders around? Are you registered for tax free childcare?

I am eligible to apply for tax free childcare and have gone through the process on the website but cannot find my childminder on the list of approved childcare. I know she accepts people who have free childcare for children 3 and over.

Would it be unreasonable of me to ask her to do it? Is there any reason she wouldn't already be registered? I dont want to inconvenience her but we could really do with the money.

She may be on there already.

Mine was but I couldnot find her. It was so weird.

Talk to her

It's a separate thing to the childcare offer (for 3&4yr olds).
You have to enter her name+postcode or name+registration number. I forget which it is exactly, sorry but will have a little look to see if I can find new find correct info.

Oh and if she's not already signed up for it, definitely ask. It's really simple to set up. The only downside is it takes up to 4 working days for the money to reach my bank account after the parent has authorised payment their end each month.

Google suggests registration number+postcode (no spaces)

Thanks everyone! I still cant find her so will ask tomorrow. The 4 days thing worries me as I dont want her to be paid late. Will I be able to authorize the payment at least 4 days before the end of the month? Or is there a way for this to be paid to me so that I can pay her myself earlier? Sorry have no idea how it will work!

I think you can authorise payment as soon as the money is there. Tbh, I don't mind the delay too much, except when my parent forgets to pay on the day they receive their invoice. There is no email notification from hmrc so I only know it's been paid when the money clears my bank account. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things though.

I had no end of trouble finding my childminder when I looked for her and she was definitely on there!

I set mine up so it leaves the account 2 days after I pay the money in, I just manually do it in advance. It works fine.
