Best areas to raise family near Glasgow

We are relocating due to my partner's work. Looking for areas within 30mins drive of Glasgow or Stirling. Coming from a small town so would like a town/village area. Community feel is important to us (baby/toddler groups etc) will have no friends/family nearby so will be starting afresh. Help .....

Bearsden? its under a 30 minute drive to Glasgow central and has toddler groups, and has a nice feel about the town.

I have a friend from Newton Mearns and I've heard it's meant to be really nice.

Eaglesham is pretty much exactly what you need. It's a village just south of Glasgow (the kids would go to secondary school in newton mearns).

Houston and Bridge of Weir are nice. They have good primary schools, and both feed into a good secondary school in Houston - Gryffe High school.

They are no more than half an hour's drive from central Glasgow, and there is a good bus service into the city too, and a regular and frequent bus service from Johnstone, which is close by.

Milngavie is lovely! Has its own precinct and on the outskirts of Glasgow. Countryside on the doorstep and around 30-40 minutes to Stirling too.

Stewarton / Dunlop / kilbarchan / Bridge of Weir / Houston / Howwood / Erskine / Bishopton
