I’m trying to read 12 books in 2020. Previously I’ve gone months without reading and then will read a book in 2 days. I would like to broaden my experience to include fiction and non fiction and books I maybe wouldn’t choose. Any suggestions please?
I have already read The Five and The Day Olivia Fell since I started on the 1st.

All the Light We Cannot See. It was absolutely brilliant, and tbh if you only read one book all year you'd be glad you read that one.

Yes that’s a beautiful book Phil

I set myself a challenge a few years ago to read all the books on the short list for one of the book prizes. I failed miserably, probably because I was too ambitious for the time I had available. But maybe you could use THIS for some inspiration?

Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine

I've set myself the same challenge, OP! I trawled a few lists of good reads and came up with this:

Jan: Gentleman in Moscow
Feb: The Muse
Mar: The Night Circus
Apr: A God in ruins
May: Fleishman Is in Trouble
Jun: Seven Husbands of evelyn hugo
Jul: Guns, Germs and Steel
Aug: Night - Elie Wiesel
Sep: The Cows
Oct: The Nightingale
Nov: The Mars Room
Dec: The Silent Patient

Tried to include one non-fiction, one more classic book and one that had been personally recommended by someone. The rest are just highly rated. P.S. All the Light We Cannot See is fab and Little Fires Everywhere is a great page-turner.

There's loads of great solutions on that.
I'd suggest 'Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine'
My Sister the Serial Killer
A few of my favourite authors are Louise Candlish, Liane Moriarty, Lisa Jewell, Nicci French, Maggie O'Farrell.

Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson was my favourite non-fiction read of last year. My favourite read of any genre actually. Also Education by Tara Westover is a great memoir. For fiction I loved Circe by Madeleine Miller - a story based on Greek mythology. There are some fiction authors who never let me down - Kate Atkinson, Barbara Kingsolver, Wally Lamb, Lionel Shriver - I’d recommend anything by those guys. Good luck, I resolved to read more a few years ago too and I managed 35 books last year! I keep track of them using the reading challenge on Goodreads.
