Waistband expander-will my zip come undone ?

Hello,

My fave jeans nearly fit me 8m post partum (fine on the legs but, whilst I can zip them up fine, the waist and is a teeny bit tight and it annoys me). Money is tight so I thought I could just use one of (see pic). I’d probably need to use it on the smallest setting .... so, whilst I can wear my jeans .... will I constantly be having to do my zipper up?!

I might be wrong but I think these make the clothes smaller. My Dd's used to have them in their school trousers to make the waist smaller. The fit on either hip of the trousers.

Ignore me I have just looked them up. They aren't what I thought they were.
