Getting new prescription in old glasses

Does anyone know if you can send an old pair of glasses off somewhere to have refitted with a new prescription?

I have a couple of old pairs of glasses & I'd like to change one into sunglasses - one of the lenses is a varifocal & the other is a balance lens in case that makes a difference.

Hoping it's possible & that someone might have an idea where to send them.

Any opticians can have an existing frame re-glazed. Try a local independent as you may still need adjustments, and if you’re wanting sunglasses you’ll likely want to pick the level of tint too.

Whatever you do don't go to an optician they will charge you the earth!!

Try "Lenses in glasses" or just Google reglazing lenses and other companies will come up. You put in your prescription and what type of lenses (distance/reading, tinted, thinned down etc) and they send you a prepaid box to send them back. Really simple. Lenses in glasses were the cheapest I found for the lenses I needed (super duper thinned cos I'm utterly blind).

Unfortunately my opticians wouldn't do this so assumed most would be the same, but ideally not looking to pay opticians prices.

Thanks for that Paddington, will have a look.
