What's surprised you about your parents?

Just found out my mum took a brick laying course many years ago (she worked in retail). Just for fun apparently. Who knew?

That my dad was married before during ww2. Only found out after he died.

But then again, I've only recently found out that my grandfather was a bigamist.

Finding out what amazing ballroom dancers they are, or used to be when they were younger and before dad's dodgy knees. It was like watching Strictly

That they were a one night stand, and had sex within two hours of meeting each other

They met up again the following summer and then started a relationship.

Also a surprise, the fact that the night they DTD for the first time, was the day after my mothers 15th birthday, my dad was 19

Don't know how I feel about my dad technically being a sex offender!

According to my mother it was "perfectly fine" because back then "it wouldn't have been proper to do it with a boy your own age, and anyway, it was before sex was considered bad"
