Stress-Free but Nice Food for PTA Quiz

We're doing a quiz night - fairly small scale as the venue only fits about 60 people

Have promised snacks/nibbles as part of the ticket price (so not a meal)

Does anyone have any genius suggestions please of what would be gratefully received but isn't either (a) a lot of work to prep or (b) expensive?

So far I have come up with tortilla chips and dip, and cheese and pineapple on a stick (always popular!) - not feeling very inspired as you can tell.

I have the use of a small oven in an adjoining kitchen but have limited helpers so we won't have enough people to run the quiz AND do complicated food

What would you enjoy if you were attending an event like this?

Thank you for any suggestions

You could so a couple of platters for each table such as cheeses with crackers or cut up baguette, grapes, olives and chutney, one with cooked meats, cooked chicken wings, sausage rolls etc and a vegetarian friendly one with falafel, vegeratian sausage rolls, crudities. It really will depend on what your budget is

A few boxes of family circle type biscuits (xmas knock down pile in supermarkets)?

Mini sausage rolls, cook at home and bring?

Breadsticks as well as tortilla chips?

Obvs allergies to consider but mixed nuts?

Bowls of crisps.

Assuming paper or china plates btw.

Jamie you're a pro at this. Do what she suggested!

We do DIY plougmans. So table set out with bowls of crisps, bread, cheeses, pickles, grapes. People help themselves as they come in (and there is a table quiz round while this is done - so e.g. sheet of guess the celebs. To be getting on with and handed in later.) Then half way through we hand out little bowls filled with quality streets (or chocs of yr choice!) for pud. BYO drinks.

Ooh thank you. Ploughmans would work well!

Planning a picture round at the halfway point so people can visit the bar/loo and have a bit of a break. Perfect time to put ploughmans into a table for people to help themselves. Will do some bits for the vegans alongside too.

Thanks everyone, knew MN would have the answer!
