Without someone trying to ruin or steal it!!
Someone has tried to steal my car from outside of my work this afternoon, luckily I have extra security on it (it’s in the top 4 of the most stolen cars which I didn’t know until after I’d bought it) they’ve broken the door lock barrel, used an angle grinder on the steering lock, pulled the dashboard apart looking for the real OBD port (I have a dummy one fitted in the usual place) and damaged my steering wheel with the grinder.
I don’t know whether they were disturbed or realised they couldn’t steal it (also has a ghost immobiliser) but they took off after spending 2.5 mins on the carpark trying. Neighbours across the road came in and told me what had happened.
I’m gutted, I wish I’d never had this car, but I do love it, I’ve wanted one for years, but have spent everyday since buying it living in fear of it being stolen. I know it’s only a car, but it’s mine, and I’d hate it to go missing!!
We’ve also recently had to buy a Ring doorbell and security cameras for home, due to numerous reports of groups of young men trying car and house doorhandles in the middle of the night.
It’s really shaken me, the thought of someone going through my car, they’ve been in the glove box, I’m terrified they’ve found a letter with my home address on and are going to come back. I’m also frightened they’ll follow me and try to carjack me.
Maybe I’m being over dramatic but I feel so nervous and on edge now.
