As the title says, please make me feel better. I decided, after trying to find somewhere to take my crazy 2 year old for her first hair cut, attempting to do it with DH whilst she was awake, and having her scream and kick off, that I would just give it a little snip tonight whilst she was asleep.

She looks like Friar Tuck. No exaggeration. I feel like the worst! Please make me feel better with your similar parenting disasters. I have included a photo to show that I am not exaggerating!! I also cannot stop laughing 😂🙈 Poor mite will have a fright in the morning!

Awwww she looks beautiful!! I’m sure I’d be laughing too but a slightly dodgy fringe does not friar tuck make.

My dad once cut mine. I looked like this.

A barber once started doing DSs hair and asked me if he had gone at it himself with scissors. I had to tell him that it was me with the dog clippers. He then whispered to DS to never let me cut his hair again.

Aw, bless. No 2-year-old likes their hair cut, no one will judge. My dd had a wonky fringe at 3 because I said ”you must keep still until the hairdresser has finished” and before the hairdresser had finished she suddenly turned her head and said ”can I move now” just as the hairdresser’s scissors closed on the end of her fringe.

My eldest had a lovely bob cut and a fringe that cost a fortune to get trimmed regularly. I got myself some hairdressing scissors and trimmed her fringe between haircuts. One time though I managed to trim her eyebrow at the same time. This was a few years ago and she is now 12 and tells everyone about it and banned me from trimming her fringe ever again.

Ah thank you @Merename!

I guess it must be a parenting rite of passage to cut in a dodgy fringe at some point!

I meant it. And I just realised you asked for similar disasters - yesterday I thunked DD2’s head off a door frame accidentally as I carried her about on my hip and she got a wee egg. I felt terrible but also consoled myself by thinking ‘that’s what you get for being a clingon’.

Much worse than you!!

I accidentally gave toddler DS a completely textbook bowl cut once, if it helps

My mum used to cut mine and my brother's hair when we were younger. I was fidgetting so much she cut my ear lobe with the scissors! We've never let her forget it Grin
