Just trying to work out a fair rate, how does your company work it out?

HMRC rate is 45p / mile.

I'm self employed, so I use that

.45

45p p/m here too.

I get 45p per mile.

My company pays 0.25p per mile for own/car allowance use and 0.18p per mile for company car.

The staff members are then able to claim the tax difference via HMRC each year. This means the company don't have to worry about the mileage cap adjustments.

We have to provide annual proof that we are covered for business mileage on our insurance, not just commute to work mind.

Thanks - didn't want to short change our staff, 45p seemed a lot, but it sounds like the standard amount.
