Yea, it usually follows the last bank holiday in May (so the Monday BH onwards for a week)

Whitsun bank holiday Monday is the last Monday in May so often the holiday week will encompass the beginning of June. DS birthday is 1st June and most years this has fallen during the school half term holiday.

The year of the Queen's jubilee (2012?) the holiday fell a week later to include the Queen's celebrations (I'm guessing that the bank holiday moved because of this).
