Do you have a home lash / eyebrow dye reccomendation, please?

I used to dye my own lashes, I think it was a 2 part dye that I mixed into a paste then applied with a stick. Might have been a one part paste, I can't remember! Anyway, it was good.

I bought what I though was the same one recently (Eyelure) and it was a liquid that I had to 'saturate' my lashes with, I assume that was the developer, then a white paste/cream that you brush on. It then turns black and dyes the lashes.

Except it doesn't. Because my lashes and brows don't absorb the liquid stuff you put on first, so the cream doesn't develop. I don't know if I have unusually waterproof lashes (washed my face thoroughly before applying, no makeup/moisturiser etc on lashes) or if it's just a rubbish product. The only thing I dyed was the skin under my brow hairs. So that was nice Hmm

Anyone know if there is a product like the mix then apply cream/paste I used to use? I have a vague recollection of the rules being changed on the strength of home dye that can be sold - maybe it's something to do with that and they can't make it like they used to anymore?

Strictly Professional - buy from Amazon

I had the same issue with this change in product...
I started going to a salon and pay £18 every 6ish weeks.

Thanks for the Amazon recommendation Daftspunk

I get refectocil from amazon, works a treat for me. Comes in a tube which you’ve gotta mix with a developer liquid and mix (smush really) into a paste in a glass pot.
I mix light brown and natural brown together (I think 6 and 6.1) pop it on for maybe 3ish minutes or so and it lasts me 3 or so weeks. You can use it on lashes and brows but I’ve only ever used it on brows 🙂

I use Just For Men Beard on my brows. Last for ages. Given up on lashes.

Reflectocil it's brilliant. Get it from eBay or amazon

WeeDangerousSpike · 04/01/2020 20:29

Brilliant, thanks! Grin

I was a bit worried about ordering one of the ones from amazon as you hear horror stories about random imported beauty stuff that doesn't meet UK regs / doesn't have appropriate safety info. And how do you know, till you've gone blind... Great to have some reccomendations from real people!

Also quite glad to know I'm not alone in my Teflon cyborg lash predicament...

@Dafspunk which peroxide do you use please? Or does it not matter so long as its the right strength?

With refectocil, does the developer liquid vs the cream make a difference to how easy it is to apply?

Hmm, well, I’ve always bought the SP tint and developer from Amazon but it seems that they don’t stock it anymore. After a quick google, it looks like you can still buy it online from other places though. I recommend it - 5 minutes for eyebrows (I use brown) and 20 minutes for lashes (I use blue-black).

For eyeBROWS use just for men beard dye. Its amazing for colour and lasting well.

Thanks. It's good to have some options. Smile
