What would you spend it on?

I have one of those vouchers you can spend in lots of big retailers for £50, plus £50 in cash. Both were Christmas gifts so I'd like to treat myself to something nice but I'm not sure what. I always end up frittering money on little things that dont feel special.

I don't want a subscription or a membership to anything as I work silly hours and don't get much chance to use things like that.

I do enjoy cooking and considered getting some decent pots and pans but that seems a bit shite for a treat.

What would you spend it on?

I'm stalking Seasalt coats on eBay personally...

Apackoflips · 04/01/2020 17:20

I like techy stuff so Im waiting to get an Echo show for the kitchen. With £40 left I would get some very nice jewelry in the sales -probably earrings or a nice ring /bracelet for special occasions.

Books or plants here.

I got a pandora charm bracelet for Christmas so I’m obsessing over new charms at the moment especially as they have a sale on at mo

ginandgingers92 · 04/01/2020 18:28

Nice bottle of perfume?

LajesticVantrashell · 04/01/2020 18:34

I recently got a a John Lewis voucher and bought some Carvela boots. They were £130 and I'd NEVER spend that much but I love them so much I'd sleep in them if I could.

I8toys · 04/01/2020 18:37

I got £150 M&S and £150 Next vouchers for Christmas. I got new bedding and knickers with M&S and new lights for the two living rooms with Next. I have stuff so wanted to go practical and useful.

HilaryBriss · 04/01/2020 18:38

I bought myself a Pandora bracelet and an Urban Decay eyeshadow palette, I loves them both Xmas Grin

BunnytheBlueWhale · 04/01/2020 18:40

Jewellery
Handbag
Perfume
Make up / skincare
I love stationary so maybe a nice diary / Filofax!
It really depends what you want!

SkateAway · 04/01/2020 18:46

I have a pandora bracelet, I never thought of getting myself a charm! I like their rings too.

I'm very lucky to have family who are really good to me at Christmas so perfume and shoes are not on my list. I also have Waterstones vouchers so books are covered too!

DS got an Echo Dot and I considered one for the kitchen too but I cant believe how much they've gone up in price!

I got £100 in cash from my parents, I spent £50 on amazon vouchers (which translated into lots of kindle books) and I'm totally stuck on the other £50 so hopefully will get some inspiration from this thread!

TreestumpsAndTrampolines · 04/01/2020 18:54

When I got 100 quid I bought myself a feather duvet (this was a fair few years ago). I basically bought something I'd use every day, that I dearly wanted, but couldn't normally justify the cost of.

VioletCharlotte · 04/01/2020 19:20

I'm looking at Nespresso machines, they're on offer at the money and you can pick one up for around £100.

Otherwise, I'd probably look for a decent winter coat.

SkateAway · 04/01/2020 19:26

Violet I love coffee and I'd really like a proper espresso machine but can't find a decent one below £100.

Not keen on pods so Nespresso is out.

I have 100 also and am thinking of a weighted blanket. Dh got me a fitbit versa 2 to replace my older one which I love and use all the time. Other nice things I got were theatre tickets and a night away in a castle. Also bought an air fryer which has been a big hit and used other money to buy a new frying pan reduced from 150 to 59.

Spied · 04/01/2020 19:31

I'd be looking to getting a nice coat for spring.

MiseryChops · 04/01/2020 19:32

I’d buy really good skincare or haircare
(Dermalogica / olaplex etc)

BunnytheBlueWhale · 04/01/2020 20:42

Yes a nice clothing item like a coat or jacket or pair of shoes / boots

Maybe some nice bedding or towels

A tablet or something else techy if you need it

BunnytheBlueWhale · 04/01/2020 20:43

The last time I had a £100 voucher I put it towards the dyson hairdryer as I’d been wanting it and £200 seemed a bit better then £300!

Aragog · 04/01/2020 20:45

www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07PJV3JPR?tag=mumsnetforu03-21
£24.99 which I think it pretty good.

AnnieOH1 · 04/01/2020 20:48

If you really enjoy cooking I'd recommend a nice knife or two. Whenever you use it you'll be reminded of whoever gave you the gift. :)

Chochito · 04/01/2020 20:49

A coat in the sale

A pair of ankle boots

A massage

Face masks, lip balms, hand creams

A bag for the gym

A nightdress

Underwear

Perfume

Yeah, I could definitely do with 100 quid :)

JeezyPeeps · 04/01/2020 20:55

I would but a pair of hiking boots or running trainers and a new printer as mine is no longer working.

ChristmassySpice · 04/01/2020 21:00

Me?

A Smart watch.

Put it towards a holiday.

£100 worth of logs for my log burner.

Blow it all on make up / new underwear.

Ragwort · 04/01/2020 21:05

If you really enjoy cooking why not get some decent pots and pans, you will use them most days and get enjoyment from them.
