Struggling to think of something to do tomorrow with my three year old.

Any suggestions? Open to travelling.

Rufford Park and then watch the cars drive through the splash (fford) but stand back!
Go to Newfield ice cream parlour in Hockerton (NG25 0PN) - fab food and ice cream. Nice outdoor bits to play on if dry.
White post farm and Sundown Adventure park are fairly close too.

Holymolymackerel · 03/01/2020 21:01

White post farm, Farnsfield
Rufford country park, Ollerton
Clumber park (national trust) and Mr Straw's house both Worksop
Sundown, Retford
Nottingham castle and tunnels
Sherwood forest, Edwinstowe
Watermeadows pool, Mansfield

Does your 3yo like planes? Or cake? Do you? Go to Nottingham Airport at Tollerton. The cake is excellent, the cafe is set up for pre-schoolers and you can watch little planes take off and land close by (from a nicely fenced-in cafe garden).

For indoor arty, crafty activity, try this

We went to Wollaton Park the other day. It has a good playground, plenty of space, a good free museum & deer, I believe (we didn't see these).

Gruffalosandbuffalos · 03/01/2020 21:20

Belton house has a great outdoor adventure play area and a little train you can ride on.

The Dome at Doncaster is good for swimming if you want a few slides.

Theme parks we often use are Wheelgate, Twinlakes and Sundown if you want something like that.

Thank you so much for the suggestions.

We ended up at Sherwood Pines which we haven't visited before.

Definitely going to give your other suggestions a try!

@ridiculousridiculousness how local are you? I have a 3 year old and am local to many of the suggestions on here so we must be pretty close.

ridiculousridiculousness · 04/01/2020 19:16

@Gruffalosandbuffalos we're in Nottingham city

@ridiculousridiculousness ah right, a little further out then as I’m near Sherwood Pines.

Bemystarlord · 04/01/2020 20:40

@ridiculousridiculousness glad you liked sherwood pines, if you go in the summer there is a lovely little place nearby called sherwood forest railway that has a small size steam train you can ride, a play area for young children 6 and under and a little cafe thats lovely. Free entry just pay small fee for a train ride.
