Frozen chicken in slow cooker...?

tulips77 · 03/01/2020 08:33

I have googled but seem to get mixed opinions!
Is it safe to put frozen chicken legs straight into the slow cooker and go from there? I forgot to take them out of the freezer yesterday.
Thanks!

No, maybe fefrost in the microwave first? Slow cookers don't get hot enough to kill bacteria.

No. Defrost in microwave first.

No! They will spend too much time at a unsafe temperature. (Getting got eventually won’t cure this!) Your slow cooker instruction book probably tell you not to.

No definitely not. As PP suggested, maybe you could defrost first, but wouldn't take any chances and just have tomorrow night instead.
