Is the flu jab still worth it this year?

My work will refund me the cost of a flu jab but I haven’t got round to it yet.
I haven’t heard much about whether it is or set it be a bad flu season, or how effective the jab is this year against the various strains. Does anyone have a view?
I’m 38 with no pre existing conditions that put me at particular risk but I have school age kids and work in social care and would obviously be unpleasant to catch it and a pain to take time off.
Dh and 2 out of 3 dcs have been vaccinated (eldest is 11 so doesn’t get it at school)

I"m sure other people with more medical/healthcare experience will be along in a minute, but I can only tell you that in this household we had around 2 months of the "zombie flu" in total. The last time I felt that bad was 25 years ago in another country where I hadn't built up any immunity yet to the viruses going around. Headaches like you wouldn't believe; sinus issues; snot; a cough that lingered and lingered; feeling like death warmed up; you just think you've got over it and it comes back; I could go on.

So this year, for the first time ever, once my next hospital appointment is over in a week's time, I will be getting the flu jab.

Don't take my word for it, though, have a look at a couple of official sites....and this was before the Christmas period, when people travel all over the place.
