Yes I watch it every year, bit of a tradition really. Not keen on Craig David but if you like him it's nice to have music on.

Also had a row with DP... tempted to go into the 20's without the bastard

Moondancer73 · 31/12/2019 23:33

@letsgopikachu not good. Has it been a rough year?

hotchocolateisallme · 31/12/2019 23:35

@Moondancer73
I've turned it off now, I thought it was nice but not in the party mood lol. Now watching big fat quiz of the year to try and make me giggle!
@@letsgopikachu and sending hugs to you. Not nice having rows with husband especially on a tonight for celebration

I spent years being miserable at new year when I was with my ex, I know how it feels. My youngest has just come home with his friends but I may as well be on my own to be honest - they're 18, don't want my company 😂

letsgopikachu · 31/12/2019 23:38

@Moondancer73 no we don't really have huge issues... not on the surface anyway. The last year I've spent focussing on my own thing and growing a business so I could have financial independence... during this time the relationships been fine but that's mainly because he's been free to slob about gaming as I'm not expecting any help or anything from him... however the reason I started my business was because I wanted to 'get my ducks in a row' ready to LTB lol... because before I was focussing on the business It was so much more apparent that he didn't have time for me or would have rather been gaming

letsgopikachu · 31/12/2019 23:41

I guess I sound kind of cold but I wasn't willing to leave my kids struggling so I just wanted that security first.

Cruddles · 31/12/2019 23:41

Wife went to bed at 10:30, children down by 7:30. Have been messaging family in Australia

Cruddles · 31/12/2019 23:41

Watching Vic & Bob and drinking M&S ale

hotchocolateisallme · 31/12/2019 23:42

@letsgopikachu
Good on you for finding some independence! You do what makes you happy. I always think I don't want to look back on my life when I'm in my eighties and regret who I spent my life with!
Tbh I'm glad he's gone to bed and we're now rowing still. At least I get to see the new year in in peace!
@Moondancer73
That's sad to hear. I'm glad you're in a better place now!

@Cruddles
That sounds nice,when do they have their new year?

I'm happily snuggled up on bed on my own.

My DS is snoozing in the next room, my DH is working, he does it every year.

I'm not a big NYE fan, even in my parties and champers days, its was always a bit of a let down, this is much better 🍰🍫🛏

letsgopikachu · 31/12/2019 23:45

@Moondancer73 but do you want their company? 😂

I put my kids to bed at 10 and said 'see you next year' lol

Teddy1970 · 31/12/2019 23:45

I'm on my own as DH is at work, DC tucked up in bed and I'm contemplating having some Christmas cake with a cuppa, I know how to roll on NYE! Never used to be like this though, but in all honesty I do think NYE is the most overrated night ever and I don't envy people trying to get a cab home in the cold at 1am!

Cruddles · 31/12/2019 23:47

That sounds nice,when do they have their new year?

Long gone, it's almost their lunchtime! I was sitting on my lunch break when they wished me happy new year

Thinkofsomethingoriginal · 31/12/2019 23:49

Husband is in bed as he'll be up for work really early in the morning. Kids are in bed. I gave up placing expectations on NYE years ago but will see it in with a drink in my hand as I have FOMO. Will be in bed by 12.30.
I've done a few NYEs on my own now due to husband working.

Wineinthegarden · 31/12/2019 23:50

I always spend it alone! Don’t seem to be the friend that gets invited to parties.

Starbonnet123 · 31/12/2019 23:51

We were having a party but they were all no shows bar 1 , so we went to the pub . Sat in my jammies now watching alan carr while the other 2 eat curry and drink whisky

hotchocolateisallme · 31/12/2019 23:54

Just wanna say thankyou to everyone commenting on this post it's really cheered me up and it's nice to know I'm not the only one on my own! Happy New Years to you all!!!
And @Cruddles oh right! Wasn't sure if they was behind or in front!

I was hoping my eldest might join me but think I will be seeing it in alone (unless the fire works wake the DCs). Been channel hopping a bit the last half hour. Watched Holby city then billy Elliott then flicked channels a bit. Watching Craig David now so I don't miss the countdown. Feeling quite emotional in a positive way. I have been through hell the past few years, but I feel like I'm emerging from that and so I am really looking forward to saying goodbye to the hardest decade of my life (I hope) and hello to the best decade of my life so far (I predict). Being on my own is so much better than being with my ex. I've had some really shitty New Years, the arguments and being shouted at because I fell asleep in front of the tv, being left alone in town centre another crying on my phone to my mum because I was so unhappy. So much time wasted being unhappy, and I got my kids so I can't ever regret it, but I'm ready to be happy now. Being on my own watching the countdown with my kids sleeping close by is the best way I could meet this new year.

Cruddles · 31/12/2019 23:56

Yeah in front. Also was 46 degrees in Sydney. And people wonder why i prefer living in the UK...

Teddy1970 · 31/12/2019 23:57

Happy New Year to you hotchocolateisallme and everyone on here!
