Which iPhone do you have, how long have you had it and what’s your battery’s maximum capacity percentage?

Settings->Battery->Battery Health

My iPhone XS has dropped to 88% and it’s only 9 months old. I feel like this is an excessive drop but it’s within normal parameters for Apple’s warranty!

iPhone 8, 16 months and 86%. Clearly I don't look after my phone very well!

OccasionallyIncomplet · 31/12/2019 23:21

IPhone X - had since release in Sept 2017. Current maximum capacity is 85%.

Sevo7 · 31/12/2019 23:22

iPhone 11-100% which isn’t surprising as it’s less than a month old but my iPhone 6s is 82% which is nearly 3 years old and tbh I’m surprised it’s that as it dies at anything less than 40% battery and literally uses a percentage per second when on FaceTime which is why I upgraded!

I ruined the battery though by constantly having it on and off charge,I was lucky if the battery lasted 4 hours by then end with minimal use. I will be a lot more careful this time Blush

iPhone 8 82% almost 2 years old

Rachelfromfriends1 · 31/12/2019 23:31

@ExpletiveDelighted maybe it’s a XS thing then. Where did you buy yours from? I have 24 months warranty from the retailer so going to get mine replaced as soon as it drops to 80!

Thunderclearstheair · 31/12/2019 23:37

Have you ever used a fake iPhone charger? My dh bought some and they fried the battery on our iPads and phone.

OvenGlovesWillTearUsApart · 31/12/2019 23:43

iPhone 7, 18 months or so, 96%.

Aragog · 31/12/2019 23:46

iPhone X. Will be 2 years in March, when I'm due for an upgrade. 85%

Rachelfromfriends1 · 31/12/2019 23:49

Never used a fake charger, no. I even spent extra on the Apple fast (usb-c) chargers.

Apparently it’s a combination of using my phone whilst it’s charging & allowing my battery to deplete to a low level before charging again

ExpletiveDelighted · 31/12/2019 23:50

Mine's from the Apple store so only a year warranty. I do use fake chargers sometimes, in the car or at work, I keep my apple one at home. As its out of warranty now I'd probably get it replaced at the local repair place instead of Apple, unless they do a replacement programme again, got the battery in my 6 replaced that way last year.
