Help please ... how to get the Echo dot to play Radio 4?

I've just said to mine

"Alexa, play bbc radio 4" and it did it.

"Alexa, get your shit together"

Do you need the BBC sounds app now? I have a feeling they've changed it recently.

meglet I didn't download an app & haven't used mine for BBC anything before (only had it since Christmas) :)

It's not working. I linked to the BBC with the Skills thingy and now it won't do it. Not through Sounds or Tune in. I've tried disabling the BBC thing and it still won't work. Even on the App there's no R4, only World Service.

It's a fucking nightmare.

But the answer is you have to open the BBC sounds skill first
'Alexa open BBC sounds'

Then ask Alexa to play BBC radio 4

It just says 'Sorry, something went wrong'

Is devuce location the UK in the settings? Ours wouldn't play BBC as it thought it was in America.

Yes, location is UK. R4 isn't even coming up as an option on the App. It's driving me mad. A quick Google has shown me that this is a common problem but nobody seems to have a solution.

Oh it is sooooo annoying since they stopped having R4 in Tunein.

You need to add the BBC sounds skill.

Then you need to say "Alexa, open THE BBC"...then ask for Radio 4 after the blurb.

Sometimes "open BBC and play me Radio 4" works, but mostly not.
