Peri-Menopause Issues - Specialist - Dr Panay or Mr Studd?

Hi,
Has anyone ever attended an appointment with either Dr Panay or Mr Studd? I'm becoming desperate for treatment and have read mixed reviews. Hoping to make an appointment when the clinics open - can anyone advise please?

I have seen Mr Panay (originally one of his team through the NHS Menopause Clinic at C&W Hospital and later privately on Harley Street) and he was great. I had already gone down the GP route, where the menopause knowledge was pretty poor. He knows his stuff and is a personable man to deal with. Would recommend. Very difficult to get an appointment with him these days, so most recently saw one of his other staff, who I liked, but didn't rate quite so highly as she wouldn't (re) prescribe the testosterone that Mr P had previously prescribed, but insisted on a private prescription of something that hadn't been approved in the UK and my pharmacist couldn't even obtain. Seemed unnecessary to me.

Can't comment on Mr Studd as I have had no experience with him.

I suspect that if you call Mr Panay's clinic he won't have availability until the summer, so you may have to see one of his colleagues. Chat to the receptionist and get a recommendation from her.

Thanks. As someone just mentioned it can be unethical to discuss doctors online. Please pm me if you have any experiences etc.

Hi op
Can I recommend Louise Newson. She has a website The Menopause Doctor and is really experienced in all things menopause related.
I have heard that Nick Panay is great but very hard to get an appointment.

I don't think it's unethical to discuss doctors online. They're providing a service like anyone else. It's a good thing we can discuss these things now. Others will benefit.

Fiftee - have you met Louise Newson? I have booked an appointment with a GP specialising in menopause for next week and thereafter will be adding my name to someone's waiting list.
