New Year's Eve; what's everyone up to today?

I'm enjoying a cup of tea...in silence!! Both girls are still sock on after a late-ish night last night.

I don't think we're doing much of anything today. I want to finish rough planning next term for my Rainbows and Guides & do a load of washing. But that's about it. Dd1 will probably play her guitar some more & dd2 will most likely mooch about with me.

No fancy parties or NYE dinner guests here, but I do have a joint of beef that I'll take out to defrost shortly; for tomorrow :)

What about you lot? Anyone partying? Or hosting a dinner party?

I'm relieved to hear lots of other people are staying home. I always feel I'm the only person who's not out and about.

DH and I stocked up on nice M&S food, we're chilling the bottle of champagne he got given at work, and we're staying in. I'm trying not to go over my WW points as I have a big party in 4 weeks' time and a lot of weight to lose. 😂

The D.C. cone back from their dad's tomorrow and it'll be mayhem again, so enjoying the peace while it lasts.

I'm making a treasure hunt for the children so they can find their last presents (that I lost before Christmas but found a couple of days ago)

I've got a box of firecrackers and cherry bombs and other such fun little fireworks which we will enjoy once it gets dark

No party this year, maybe we'll watch a film and play a couple of board games with DD once the toddler is in bed.

Staying in too. Trying to rouse myself to get some tidying/organising/cleaning/sheet changing done. Later will be a couple of games with dcs, prob a Star Wars film and some Prosecco in front of the TV.

Lovemenorca - CATS... well, we found out that it was showing at one of those very plush cinemas with velvet sofas so treated ourselves, which certainly enhanced the whole experience.
The film wasn't as bad as expected/was actually quite enjoyable... first bit was somewhat repetitive, second half was better - the costumes didn't seem 'odd' at all, they looked like they 'worked' and some of the songs/choreography were good... Would I recommend it? Well it's all very subjective but if I wanted to pass the time, it would do the trick in a 'pleasant' way. If anything, it was a bit slow imo and possibly intended to be much funnier.
