Found this skeleton in my loft today . We’ve had pest issues in the past. Any idea what it is? Larger than a rat but maybe it’s a big rat 🤮

Rat or squirrel (which are basically rats with added cuteness and a head for heights)
It's very..... green.

Princesspickle777 · 30/12/2019 15:25

It certainly looks rat like! No idea how you’d actually find out though.

WibblyWobblyWonder · 30/12/2019 15:26

If you can get a clearer photo of the skull, you should be able to tell by comparing the teeth to online photos.

I won’t be going back for a close up !!! It’s obviously been up there a while and stunk to high heavenSad

Isn't that a trap on the left hand side of it? If so I'd say rat! They can be very big!

TellySavalashairbrush · 30/12/2019 15:53

No. Not a trap, we put poison up there years ago though.

Are you sure it's not a lizard of some sort?

Muminabun · 30/12/2019 15:55

Rats like lofts op and they can get quite big and muscular.

Namethecat · 30/12/2019 15:55

It looks like it has a fairly long tail , so rat.

dudsville · 30/12/2019 15:56

You left it up there????

StillWeRise · 30/12/2019 15:58

squirrels have long tails

WeeDangerousSpike · 30/12/2019 16:59

Rat or a squirrel.

Namethecat I can't see a tail at all?

TellySavalashairbrush · 30/12/2019 17:37

No, the ‘thing’ is now at the local rubbish tip thank goodness. I thought lizard too, but think it’s unlikely.

Rats can be fecking enormous, more so than squirrels, so a big old rat would be my bet. Lizards are rarely that size in this country, unless you're not in the UK?

JoGose · 30/12/2019 17:47

I think rat

BelfastNonBlonde · 30/12/2019 17:49

🤢

marthastew · 30/12/2019 17:52

Rats have a horrendous smell when they die. You are lucky you were able to find it and remove it easily. We had one die at work once and were unable to find it. We had to move out of the office in the end.

GinnyLane · 30/12/2019 18:19

If you are UK-based, I also think rat...

TwilightPeace · 30/12/2019 18:20

Gremlin.

RIBlue · 30/12/2019 18:23

It’s a rat!

Doggodogington · 30/12/2019 18:24

Alien. Definitely an alien.

TellySavalashairbrush · 30/12/2019 19:09

Grin uk based.
