Does anyone else close their eyes when they clean their teeth or am I weird?

I’ve noticed for the first time today that I just can’t keep my eyes open when I’m brushing my teeth. I have to shut them or it feels wrong and weird.

Does anyone know why this might be? Is it to stop your eyeballs shooting out like when you sneeze?

Am I the only one?

I do mine in front of the mirror with eyes open, wouldn't say you're weird though.

I do this. For the full 2 minutes.

DH thinks it's weird

Beseen19 a fellow blind-brusher!

Have you ever tried keeping them open? It’s hard.

I have the window open when I'm doing mine busy being nosey at what's going on in the street outside

My DH does this and I sometimes do. Maybe because it's quite relaxing?

I do it, too! I visualise all my teeth as I'm brushing them Blush

YY to tooth visualisation.

I’ve realised I can’t do my eye makeup without opening my mouth, so maybe the two things are connected?
