Last minute few days away...where to go?!

Hi, DH and I have had a stressful few months and were looking forward to going away to see our friends for NYE to relax etc however they have now cancelled.

We would really like to still go away but apart from the usual places we go (Brighton, London, Kent) we are fully stuck!

We are in Sutton and ideally would be about an hour or so away incase we need to come home and would like somewhere where there is a beach or just somewhere we can walk and talk.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Chichester if you want a town, the Witterings, Shoreham by Sea, basically anywhere along that coast. South Downs, beaches, Arundel Castle, Amberley, trip to Gunwharf Quays at Portsmouth, Bosham, loads of places.

If you like history then go and see the Mary Rose at Portsmouth - I am not really into naval history but it was amazing.
