Which handbag to buy for under £200

Symbollove · 27/12/2019 01:11

My budget is £200; ideally will love it to be well under! Hopefully coz it's on sale!
I just don't know which to get; looked at loads on Selfridges, nothing I liked because it's kind of what I already have.
Would like it to be a cross body bag. I've had Michael kors, dkny, Kurt Geiger, wanted bit of a change

Any bag lovers help a girl out 😊😊😊

What about looking at a second hand Mulberry. Those before they changed the leather. There are some lovely bags to be had and the price is better than new.

I recieved a kate spade from santa and its lovely why not try that page? And definitely look at coach I love my coach bags.

CorporeSarnie · 27/12/2019 09:49

I've seen these, they look nice and very affordable www.lrmgoods.co.uk/

Radley

Or look at Brand Alley. There are often Radley, Kate Spade, Coach, Stella McCartney bags on there. My Radley was £98.

AdobeWanKenobi · 27/12/2019 11:16

Problem with Michael Kors is every man and his dog has a fake.

I have a couple of Coach and they are lovely, well made bags. Radley are also extremely nice and can be picked up at bargain prices in the outlets.
Have a look in TK Maxx as well, in store though not online. They have had some very nice bags in there in the past for a third of the retail.

amusedbush · 27/12/2019 11:55

I’d go for Coach.

Symbollove · 27/12/2019 13:37

@AdobeWanKenobi yes that's the issue with MK! I see everyone with it, alot very obviously fake.

I was torn last night over a ted baker and coach, ended up (at 3am 🙈) getting the ted baker as it was down from £160 to £80!

Wanderers Tracey Co are great if you like a slouchy style. The Santorini is a great size and doesn’t have that stiff leather feel.

They are Australian based but ship worldwide for free if over $200 (£100).

Bouledeneige · 27/12/2019 17:43

I love Tory Burch, Chloe, Coccinelle, Aspinal and Coach. The last is probably the most affordable.

MrsT1405 · 27/12/2019 17:51

Got to be Radley for work style or I love Kipling now I'm retired.

Tobermory · 27/12/2019 20:41

I wish I’d not seen this thread! Am trying very hard not to buy a new lovely bag in the sale.last year I bought a coach one which I love but this year there isn’t one that grabs me!

So far my list is Aspinal hobo - which I love. Exactly my kind of bag but more than I wanted to spend.

Or this but the scallop version.

Surely it comes down to

what pockets you need
what you plan to carry
how you expect it to close in the rain
how immune it is to pickpockets
how well stitched it is
what the fastener is
what sort of strap it has

and whether its made with slave/indentured labour
and whether the materials are sustainably farmed/hunted

or am I thinking about a practical, long lasting, practical object
rather than a piece of planet destroying ephemera
