I’m diagnosed with general anxiety disorder and I have been experiencing symptoms were I’m worried I might have hurt someone or stole something from a shop. I would never do either of those things but my mind keeps making me feel that way.

Yep - it's like I feel the anxiety first and my mind fills in the blanks

busyweeks78 · 26/12/2019 21:39

It’s so hard isn’t it

I think, but not sure, this is usually a symptom of OCD?

Yes, very much so.

It's part of catastrophising things, which manifests itself in different ways,

Queenparsnip · 26/12/2019 22:18

It's OCD. Definitely discuss with your gp.

Could be anxiety as part of OCD. I have a lot of thoughts about unintentionally doing something wrong or hurting someone and it's OCD related. If you have a look on the MIND website you'll see that "fear of causing or failing to prevent harm" is a symptom so it's worth going to get this checked out as there is medication that can help :)
