Doing laundry on Christmas day .....And I enjoyed it!

Had a good day, hosted for the family. Cooked a big dinner, played games, nice presents, etc. But after everyone was gone it was nice to relax and do something more normal. With all the pre-Christmas preparations the housework was getting neglected so I loaded the washing machine then sat down with a glass of wine and my new colouring book and had a relaxing evening.
A Christmas first! Felt satisfying to know that something was being achieved.
Disclaimer - I am no domestic goddess and in no way overly houseproud.

I had the dishwasher on twice yesterday but have just stuck the washing machine on this morning

Washing machine was on, because we went to the outdoor pool for a swim, so had wet togs to rinse. Santa hats looked very festive pegged out on the line Xmas Smile

I had to do laundry. If Christmas Day is your only day off and you need clean work clothes for Boxing Day, it's got to be done.

I planned to change the duvet covers yesterday, but our Christmas walk turned into a 5 miler, so didn't bother but will do today.

Wednesday's the bedding and towels change day. There was no need to change that. It was nice to get into a freshly made bed last night!

With 3 kids including a newborn I don’t think my washing machine has ever had a day off!

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 26/12/2019 09:58

We did two loads yesterday. If it wasn't raining today we'd have done another today too! If you've washing that needs doing, go for it! Xmas Grin

formerbabe · 26/12/2019 09:58

I did a load of washing too. I don't like taking a day off from it...it just means I play catch up the next day

itsgettingweird · 26/12/2019 10:01

I did none Xmas eve and day.

However I'm on my second load already this morning!

Somethings are just there to do whatever day of the week it is!

Tumbleweed101 · 26/12/2019 10:17

I had cleared the washing ready for Xmas but my dd came home (living at workplace) with a couple of loads which she ‘needed’ to put on 🙄🤣.

firstimemamma · 26/12/2019 10:20

Yesterday in our house the washing machine went on twice (family of 3). I thought it would be just the once as it is on a normal day but ds had other ideas and did an explosive poo after the first load had gone on! Babies!

megletthesecond · 26/12/2019 10:24

It was a good drying day yesterday. I got all the dc's duvets and sheets clean and dry.

hopeishere · 26/12/2019 10:32

I did some! About to get out of bed and put some more in!!

KindnessCrusader · 26/12/2019 10:37

Yes, the washing machine doesn't get a rest here! 6 of us making washing to fill it!
