Are the cinemas usually busy on Boxing Day?

Does anyone know if cinemas are generally busy on Boxing Day? Never been anywhere on Boxing Day before so I'm not sure if people go out or not! My DC really want to go and see Star Wars but we normally only go to see films near the end of their run in the cinema when it's quiet, I absolutely hate being in a busy cinema room it sends my anxiety through the roof.

I think it will be busy in the evening but maybe not earlier in the day

Whenever I've been it's been pretty busy.

Look at the website... many people prebook their seats online so you’ll be able to tell how busy it will get based on seats already sold.

Ok, might have to scrap that idea then. I thought maybe everyone would be at home on Boxing Day like I usually am Grin but obviously they wouldn't be open if nobody was going to go lol.

I have looked on the website, only 6 pre booked but I've used that as a guide before thinking it would be safe and it's been really busy so I can't trust that method again Shock

TabbyM · 24/12/2019 11:33

Yes they're usually nice and peaceful, we quite often go then

Well I looked at every showing for Jumanji on Boxing day and all were fully booked unless you wanted to sit on the very front row. Which I didn't.

They are hell on Earth, especially if it is raining.

We’ve been the last three years - early afternoon showings have been pretty quiet. We’re going early evening this year (to accommodate a Spurs fan) and have booked because it was almost completely full.

We got the last three seats for Frozen 2 today and they were on the front row...next year I will definitely book in advance Xmas Hmm

We went last year and it was quite busy but not too busy. We went early afternoon.
