When would you take a 2kg beef joint out of the freezer?

So it's ready to cook Christmas morning? Ordered a smaller one on the online food shop but was substituted with this bigger one and the date was short so had to freeze it.

I've just taken it out the freezer now. Is that about right? Fridge or kitchen side? Normally I defrost meat on the worktop and once it's defrosted but still cold I put in fridge.
But should I leave this in fridge to defrost? I always find however many hours things are meant to defrost in the fridge it takes so much longer.

When are you all taking your joints out of freezer, how big are they, and where are you putting them?

Leave it out until mostly defrosted then into the fridge to finish off. It’ll be fine for Xmas day.

Thanks, that's my thinking too.
