Ovulation pains, heavy periods and spotting

Hi all. Since having my second child 2 years ago my periods have been heavier. I've spoken to the Dr about this and they've given me stuff to help. I am anemic most of the time too. Lately (mid cycle) I'm getting two days of period like cramps and lots of thicker discharge. Obviously it's ovulation but it's becoming another part of my cycle that makes me feel abit rubbish.

This month I've been stressed. I've been spotting for a week. I know this is due to me being stressed. This has happened to me before when my son was in hospital. I'm going to get a smear booked in after Christmas. I had a fibroid when I was pregnant too. Sometimes I think have I got endemotrois or just my age? Is it normal to have heavy painful periods. Spotting, discharge and pain when you ovualate too? I'm starting to really hate my cycles!

I get ovulation pains, like period cramp for a couple of days every month! It’s annoying as it always makes me paranoid I’m going to start bleeding

londongirl86 · 22/12/2019 16:28

That's exactly how it feels. Like my period is coming. It's low down and mild cramps, sometimes in my back too! Do you feel rubbish with them? I just hope this is something that settles again one day. Before kids my cycles never bothered me. Now I have six days of heavy bleeding and two days of this. My cycles are every 24 days so I feel like half the time I'm uncomfortable!

I’ve always been aware when I am ovulating and as I have got older the pain is worse. I used to get a dull ache for a day then shooting pains now it lasts a few days and my boobs are sore

Never suffered that much with period pains get a few sharp stabbing pains a bit of back ache and usually a bad headache they are not any heavier or lighter

As I get older my ovulation time has become longer and more painful - I no longer feel invincible and ready to conceive either Grin I guess my body is no longer fit to carry a baby (47) so not feeling that

Some of my friends had heavier periods before they started to have fewer periods

Agh I'm nearly 31 and it seems to be slowly getting worse for me too. I wish there was a button I could press to turn my oven off now.

It's not fun is it. My left boob always feels sore but not my right with it!

Came off the pill a few months back and got ovulation pains for a few days, two months in a row, after never having had them before. Way more painful that period cramp for me! Was so confused as to wtf was happening.

Now my periods have vanished for like three/four months, so wtf is going on I have no idea. Defo not pregers, unless Jesus is due back this Christmas lol.

Isn't being female fun? Confused

londongirl86 · 22/12/2019 16:43

@Pinkbonbon

The pill made me feel so sick. I tried to take it for the heavy periods. It just starts out of nowhere doesn't it. My body's just decided this last couple of years I need extra hormonal changes and cramps.

Hope your period comes back soon and your not about to have Jesus haha. How old are you?

londongirl86 I’m sure when I was 31ish I would get a few pains but little period pain

Mine got worse probably around 40

I just felt lucky that I didn’t get bad period pains - now just feel i in an ongoing hormonal cycle that impacts me emotionally only have about 14 days in the month when I’m not ovulating, PMT or on my period

No it’s no fun being a woman at times

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 22/12/2019 16:47

I stopped taking the pill around 30 went back on it for a while then came off

It’s never agreed with me and I don’t like the idea of stopping my periods completely

londongirl86 · 22/12/2019 16:49

@enthusiasmisdisturbed

I totally agree. They make me feel gloomy and hungry now too. Pre kids I was able to work all day, no leaks, no pain hardly and moods were fine. I can't really request having an op at my age as the kids need me to be fit enough to care for them. Sometimes I think id have a hysterectomy tomorrow if I could.

31 too :)

I was on the pill for ten years, actually find my periods lighter (when they actually show up) off the pill. Plus my cycle used to be like every five and a half weeks! So reaaaaaly hoping it settles back to that!

My body just started rejecting the pill so I had to come off it. But heyho, there's no hohoho-ing for me this Christmas anyways so no worries I guess.

Probably better get checked out by a doc if the period isn't back in the ny though. ...might wait till like March haha.

londongirl86 · 22/12/2019 16:54

@pinkbonbon

Haha it's a nice break from them isn't it. It must be due to the pill and coming off it. Your body has got all muddled I suppose. I can't help but feel men got off lightly!

That's what I'm assuming. Only prob is I have been putting off booking a hol in case it ends up showing up that week! Which I bet it will, knowing my luck.

londongirl86 · 22/12/2019 17:02

@Pinkbonbon that's another thing. I have to count the weeks before I make plans. I had to work out my Easter holiday next year by seeing when my period fell. I went says for two weeks in April and may this year. Spent half of it bleeding and feeling weak. Was no fun at all! X

Yeah its shit. And trying to explain it to any guy Fam/pal/partner as to why you don't want to go that week and they act like you are making a mountain out if a molehill.

Like I actually want to enjoy the sun not haul up in bed for the week, how dare I?

londongirl86 · 22/12/2019 18:32

@pinkbonbon exactly this. My family think I'm weird because I don't want to do anything on day 2 and 3. I just prefer to do the school runs and stay home in between. I can go out if I need to but I'd rather not. Nothing worse than leaking in the street and not being near the loos. Aghh I'm so glad it's not just me
