I'm 44, 45 in 3 months. Two kids. Regular periods. Not on any contraception, use condoms with my DH but last night drunkenness result in him not putting a condom on in time. According to my period tracker app I am just out of my fertile window and it days chances are low. No idea what to do, get the morning after pill today or not. Worried I will be allergic or something, I rarely even take paracetamol. Help. I need to get the morning pill don't i?

Yes, you do.

ememem84 · 21/12/2019 11:22

I’d say yes if you absolutely done want to be pregnant. If another baby wouldn’t be the end of the world risk it. But if it were me I’d be hot footing it to the nearest chemist.

LongLiveThePenis · 21/12/2019 11:23

Absolutely! It's a definite risk of pregnancy.

Then yep. Off you go.

Paddyodoors · 21/12/2019 11:42

Can I just walk into a chemist?

I think so. I’ve never needed to get MAP so not entirely sure. But yes. I think you can just walk in and ask the pharmacist for it. They may then have to talk to you or something. I don’t think they just hand it out. But yes.

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 21/12/2019 11:59

There’s a form and a little lecture from the pharmacist last time I took it. You can just walk into any chemist.

KittyLane1 · 21/12/2019 12:02

Just go to the chemist, you are an adult woman, if they try to lecture you just shut them down. I had to take it a few months ago, no lecture, very easy and around £20 which is cheaper than a baby

Thanks all

Yep, definitely get the MAP. I've done it years ago as an older teen. No comments even then. Was very low risk but I definitely didn't want to be pregnant, was therefore worth the monty even to a cash strapped teenager.
