NHS staff relationship, any HR people around?!

I’ve name changed for this.

I’ve been working for the NHS for 18 months. I’ve had a bit of a crush on someone for the last few months and he has recently let it be known he has a crush on me too. We’re both single.

However, he is a band 8B and I’m a band 4. I do not report to him and he has no responsibility over me other than being a senior in the hospital.

I’ve looked in the staff policy and it says nothing about relationships in the workplace. He asked me out for a drink yesterday and I’m trying to decide if I should go or not.

Would this be frowned upon from a HR viewpoint? We don’t flirt at work but have been texting and speaking outside of work for a month or so. Any advice please?

I absolutely do not want to risk my job which I love.

Lots of people in hospitals have relationships! It’s how I met dh, nurse meets doctor cliche I’m afraid
We were actually working in the same department, and there was a lot of gossip and a bit of nastiness but we just rose above it.
