What's an 'ethical omnivore'? (And why are people such wankers on OLD)

Do all men bound up mountains weekly, or are they all lying?

Oh dear.
No idea why so many people label themselves with such weird shit.
But yes, OLD is full of all manner of wankers.

RancidOldHag · 20/12/2019 21:11

Ethical omnivore is someone who knows the name of the animals they eat (if farmed) or who shoots/hunts/fishes in the genuine wild.

No intensive rearing or augmented wild.

And someone being an obvious wanker on line will save you time in the long run.

Zaphodsotherhead · 20/12/2019 21:15

I guess they say that the bound up mountains at weekends because the answer to 'what are your hobbies' should never be 'lying in front of the football in my pants, scratching, farting and eating licquorice allsorts'. Which is what they actually do.

Is that something to aspire to? I know 'chicken' and 'cow' Wink

I am actually quite up for someone who admits to being slightly more low key. Liquorice allsorts are a flat out no though, disgusting things.

I had Susie cheese once (poor exploited cow).

Not sure if they named any future burgers.....

@Zaphodsotherhead 😂😂😂Best comment I have read on MN today. Thank you 😁😁

God what a wanker (him, not you).

However I think my brother is one. He eats mostly vegan; he only eats animal products where he knows the provenance.

So he eats fish he catches himself from the sea; eggs and milk if he visits a friend's farm; wild meat he has hunted himself.

Doesn't bound up mountains, though.

I would like that they write stuff like that. It weeds out the undesirables. Either he does like mountain climbing and hiking, which would make me run for the hills... wait... no. What's the opposite of running for the hills? That shit is exactly why that hobby would put me off a guy. Who the hell wants to go hiking on their time off? And the others who put that but don't actually do it are bullshitters. Another to avoid.

Give me a bloke that says he likes something real any day. Watching telly? Reading? Dining out? Sign me up.

Hikers and liars can match with some bugger else thanks.
