After a particularly piggish day, he's just walked in with a selection of whoopsied Tesco party snacks and said , let's have these and snuggle in with a glass of wine. And they all cook at the same temperature!

He's a keeper.

You're easily pleased 😁

SantaBeckett · 20/12/2019 21:35

This is such a lovely change from all the DH/P bashing that's normally on here.

A huge thankyou to all the supermarket / delivery staff . It must be a nightmare at this time if the year.

Scarletoharaseyebrows · 20/12/2019 21:39

Happy Friday evening, lovelies!

Dp just came home with a box of quality streets, so we’re watching crap tv and trying to get ready for Christmas.

pinkkoala · 20/12/2019 23:35

My dp is hgv driver, working nights, nov and dec has to do 6 on 2 off, he works for maritime which deliver to distribution centres such as tesco, amazon, Sainsbury's to get all goods delivered for xmas. Then i work over xmas on nights as a hca looking after dementia, elderly frail and respite and those that are on end of life. When i get in xmas morning he will run me a bath, and help with dinner and playing games with my dd and his ds, that gives me chance for hours nap. To be fair his roast dinner is better than mine.

LonelyGir1 · 21/12/2019 00:19

Love this!

Horsemad · 21/12/2019 00:33

What a lovely thread! 🙂

Cute! What made me fall for my new man was the fact he actually made me food - in 27 years I had never had a bacon sandwich cooked for me by h. It's not about grand gestures is it ... you are a lucky woman

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 21/12/2019 01:04

Am I the only one wondering what 'whoopsied' food is?

Horsemad · 21/12/2019 01:07

Whoopsied is reduced.

DailyMailHater · 21/12/2019 06:41

Loving all the other half appreciation! We are going away this weekend as it’s a family members significant birthday so they thought a large gathering the week before Christmas was a good idea Hmm

I had a massive list fo stuff written that I need to do before we go at 9.30, but was forced to bed at 8 last night with an awful headache - have woken this morning ready to blitz it and found it all ticked off, as my lovely other half has done it all whilst I slept.....I could actually cry with relief! Am now sat on the sofa with a cuppa reading mumsnet whilst him and kids sleep. These blokes are alright sometimes aren’t they Wink

InTheShadowOfTheMushroomCloud Hope your DH had a good shift and is tucked up with a cup of tea. Please tell him I’m very grateful for his hard Christmas work. He is the Santa of middle aged, middle class women who don’t want to blanket their own pigs.

BillywilliamV · 21/12/2019 06:51

Mine has driven me to and from my social events, two Friday's in a row, he's taken a couple of friends to their homes too.
Last Friday was two round trips of forty miles each, the second journey at 1am.

CandiceSucksCandy · 21/12/2019 08:41

Did you get the prawn Roses?
I've gone through three packets of those Xmas Blush

My DH has just bust a gut working til midnight for the last three days so people could have their houses fixed in time for christmas. I've granted him all the lie ins this weekend in recognition.

Originalusernameunavailable · 21/12/2019 08:48

My husband presented me with a baked Camembert and red wine last week when I came home from giving birth to our daughter. That was true love right there Grin

We have planned party food dinner for Christmas eve and Boxing Day. The freezer is wedged full. Can’t wait!

Binterested · 21/12/2019 08:48

Lovely thread. I’m single but it’s lovely to read about all these decent chaps being decent and loving. Seems I’m not a bitter old bag after all Grin

MaisyMary77 · 21/12/2019 08:48

Took my mutts out for a walk the other day, half way round our route-about 3 miles from home, it started to pour with rain. I got soaked through to my undies. When I got in, he was there with a warm towel, dry clothes and a hot chocolate. (with whipped cream and marshmallows) 🥰

Scarletoharaseyebrows · 21/12/2019 08:49

Just caught up with this! Aw, how lovely!

This is fabulous. What a great thread, op. Thank you! It’s so lovely to read, especially so close to Christmas.

@InTheShadowOfTheMushroomCloud I’m in Merseyside and I shall be hitting M&S at the ungodly hour of 6am on Monday morning. Can you seriously thank your DH for me? He does a bloody important job, he is literally ensuring a decent Christmas dinner for so many of us. It sounds as though he adores you and is a really decent man. Wish him a very merry Christmas from me and mine.

So many lovely stories of DP’s/DH’s on here. Keep them coming.

I’d add one about mine but he’s nursing a hangover from hell and just laying in bed whilst i’m up making Christmas happen. I shall get my own back tomorrow though, prosecco and camembert with the girls beckons Xmas Grin
