Milk ladder - stage with lasagne, fish pie etc.

DD is 2.5. We have been working our way very slowly up the milk ladder since she was 14 months.

We've got to the point where she can eat the following with little affect: shepherd's pie, lasagne, fruit crumble.

I'm feeling nervous about giving her fish pie which is next on the list. It just seems like SO much milk in comparison to shepherd's pie or lasagne.

Can anyone offer any reassurance? Did you find that if your DC was ok with lasagne that fish pie was fine?

I gave her a tiny bite of toast with butter on it last week which had a noticeable affect on her tummy which was slightly upset and mucusy afterwards.

I found the hardest step was going from cooked to fresh, so although this one seemed a big jump, it wasn't too bad at all

Thanks for your reply MissisBee.

In the end I made the fish pie for lunch but split the milk in the white sauce 50/50 oat milk and cow's milk and then used butter and cow's milk in the mashed potato. No noticeable reaction whatsoever(!) so next time I make it I'll use 100% cow's milk.

@MissisBee did you succeed in the end to make the step up to fresh milk? Any tips for that stage as that's where we'll be headed in January.

We got to fresh milk just after DS's 2nd birthday. I think we had 2 attempts when we started fresh cheese/yoghurt, then had 3 attempts at fresh milk. It was well timed, as we were just about to go on holiday. He's a bit of a milk fiend now!
