Come recommend me a trip with my 1 year old for my birthday

I’m a single parent to a 1 year old and have a big birthday coming up. I’d like to go away somewhere but I’m struggling to find somewhere that would be good for both us. I’m not keen on butlins/haven style places although went to centre Parcs a few years back and it was good so could possibly be persuaded.

I’m looking for somewhere that’s nice to mooch around, safe for solo female travellers, plenty of play options for tiddlers, maybe warm in April. Happy to head abroad. Hit me with suggestions please! Xmas Smile

DC are all teenagers, but the best holidays we had when they were toddlers were in the tropics. Barcelo Bavaro Santo Domingo was really nice and we went at Easter so roughly your time of the year. The water is warm, you can be lazy on the beach and there was a baby club is you needed a breather. Maldives is another good option in April and a slightly shorter fly time.

If too far, too expensive, maybe Costa Adele Tenerife? The costa adele palace h10 has an indoor and an outdoor heated pool, and more not heated pools and there is plenty to do around the hotel. If you go outside school holiday you might get good deals.

Bluestones near Tenby would be my choice, love it there.

Depending how close the Eurostar is for you, Bruges would be perfect - very safe, lovely to wander around, and the train is easier than flying with a 1 year old.

We went to benalmadena when DS was 10m old in April. It was mid 20s and you can walk for miles along the promenade which is flat and very pram friendly. Easy transfer from Malaga Airport and all the restaurants were very child friendly.

But CP could work, especially if you book the crèche and treat yourself to a massage.

Ibiza Sensatori worth a look

Thank you for all of these suggestions! im not sure whether I feel brave/safe enough to try Dominican Republic solo and Maldives all seems very water based? Costa Adele looks nice and so does Benalmedina. Bruges also a very good idea although we’re not too close to Eurostar. Will look at the Ibiza one now. Thank you!

Bluestone would be perfect. Great on-site but also in a beautiful part of Wales with gorgeous beaches and scenery plus places to visit.

Cyprus is warm, very friendly and safe.
