How can I buy sky sports for my dad?

I want to buy a subscription to Sky Sports for my dad for Christmas but I can't figure out how to do it.
He's got a smart TV but no sky or any other subscriptions. Is NowTV the way to go?

Has anyone done this?

I thought it would have been an obvious Christmas gift choice and how to buy would be really obvious but it's not.

if he hasn’t already got sky then i think it would have to be through now tv. my sister has it and i think it’s about £30 a month. i’d check that you can get now tv on his telly though or you’ll need a now tv stick.

Yes you will need to buy a nowtv box and subscribe to sky sports i think its a tenner a month.

Yes, if you get it on NowTV there's no contract so you or he can cancel at anytime.
I think it's £33.99 a month although you'll need to check whether he has or can get the Now app on his smart TV, otherwise you'll need to get a stick.

How much is a NowTV box? I would like Sky Sport but not all the rest of their channels!

I can get the Now TV app on my smart TV, I'm just assuming he will be able to. Now I will have to secretly check before doing anything. Bugger. Why is this so complicated?

You can always get a now tv box, it’s about a tenner. They have deals with them, sky sports on it though is about £30 a month.

I’d also check he has a good broadband speed.... oh and that it’s unlimited 👍

@hereiamagain84 Amazon have only won the rights to show 20 games per season for the next three years and they'll have shown all 20 by the end of Christmas week. It's a shame as their coverage is better than Sky, especially as you can mute the commentators and just hear the stadium noise.
