What colour are my eyes?

I've just been curious to know. Never pay much attention but when I do look at them properly every now and then, they do strike me!

They can be either this shade or the other, dependent on how sunny it is.

One has a different pigment entirely but had some of the other eye colour too Smile

Hazel? Or kind of brownie-grey, maybe? Grin

turnthebiglightoff · 18/12/2019 20:36

I would say hazel but your left eye looks green! Very pretty eyes.

lilgreen · 18/12/2019 20:37

Brownish.

user764329056 · 18/12/2019 20:51

You have beautiful eyes!

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 18/12/2019 21:43

Hazel.

ShouldI101 · 19/12/2019 07:12

My son has similar eyes. I swear they change colour. When he's wearing a brownish top they are brown, greenish top they are green, greyish top they are grey.

I would go for hazel but I'm not entirely sure. You have lovely eyes whatever colour they are.

Littlepond · 19/12/2019 07:13

Hazel

LoadOfBaubles · 19/12/2019 07:14

Hazel/Brown. You have beautiful eyes.

droportrop · 19/12/2019 08:02

I thought hazel was a mixture of colour. But mine are half of one colour, and then half of another.

Then the other eye is just grey I think

Your eye color remind me of the eyes of my DS.
They change color depending on the light.
Sometimes they look blue, other times grey or brown. I believe in the US they call it hazel.
They’re very beautiful and I think coppery eyeshadow would look gorgeous on you.

The one on the left of the picture looks slightly darker but I would never have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out.

BorisForPM · 19/12/2019 08:29

They’re heterochromatic.

They always are on these threads!

@Honeybee85 your son’s eyes are sometimes blue? Really?

BorisForPM · 19/12/2019 08:31

Specifically - central heterochromia.

Omashu · 19/12/2019 08:38

It’s hard to take photos of natural eye colour so it’s hard to say! My daughters eyes are dark blue with yellow/green in the middle and they change colour all day depending on the weather and the time of day! I’ve taken a photo of her where one eye looks green and the other is blue because one is in the shade and the other in the sun! It’s fascinating 😁

And you have very pretty eyes 😍

Honeybee85 · 19/12/2019 08:46

@BorisforPM

Yes (he’s mixed race).
It’s a very dark shade of blue though and usually only visible in clear daylight.
I added another picture so you can see 🙂

The one on the left has an entirely different colour in it to the other one?

Honeybee he's looks so gorgeous! I'm Hispanic and a few other variations, so mixed too Smile

The one on the left reminds me of my schoolfriend's eye that had a birthmark on the iris.

Anyway you have beautiful unusual eyes!

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 19/12/2019 09:40

Well today I have learnt that I too have central Heterochromia! Brown on the inside, green on the outside with a ring of grey at the very edge. Grin

Bluesheep8 · 19/12/2019 09:41

Hazel. With the colours in them that constitute hazel eyes

droportrop · 19/12/2019 11:30

Blue Hazel eyes alone don't just have an entirely different colour in them. That's heterchromia

@droportrop

Thank you Blush!

As for mixed race babies (and adults ofcourse) it’s so lovely to see that also the colours of their eyes and hair can be a very beautiful mix.
Your eyes are a lovely example of that, I envy you Smile

RB68 · 19/12/2019 13:55

Mine are like this - as are my Dads and after he had laser surgery for cateracts and sight issues they changed again and are far more grey these days and kind of segmented like yours as opposed to surrounding colour is one colour and inner colour another which is what mine are.

I call mine Hazel and have done since a child so it is a UK colour as well

IamPickleRick · 19/12/2019 14:00

Amber is an eye colour too. I have it and no one can decide what colour they are, most say hazel but they aren’t really.

IamPickleRick · 19/12/2019 14:00

I also have an orange ring in the middle which makes it harder.

Pollaidh · 19/12/2019 14:25

This is good to know. Turns out both DS and I have central heterochromatic eyes. I've always had a slight anxiety that if DS were to disappear I wouldn't be able to tell the police what colour eyes he has - greyey-browny-dark blue depending on light!
