Please could you ask them what is a really good game to go with it? Thank you.

Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu, according to my one of them.
He's also getting Pokemon Sword for Christmas (though he doesn't know that yet), on recommendation from his friend who already has it.

edgewater · 18/12/2019 16:05

Thank you!

Goat simulator.

Bendy and the Ink Machine.

Mario Kart

Minecraft

How about some gaming headphones, or a gaming chair?

Clymene · 18/12/2019 16:15

Breath of the Wild - sandbox adventure game where you explore a whole world, ride horses and have adventures. It's beautiful and goes on for ages

Splatoon 2 - paint shooting game

MARIO Kart - driving game. Multiplayer, more fun than it sounds

You need an internet connection to play splatoon and membership of Nintendo world or whatever it's called. Think it's about £20/year.

You can play against other people in MARIO kart but you don't have to

Clymene · 18/12/2019 16:17

Pokemon Sword is much better than Let's Go according to my 12 year old incidentally!

Not sure how much fun either of them are if you're not into pokemon tho

SpeedofaSloth · 18/12/2019 16:18

Ooh good Smile

Winterdaysarehere · 18/12/2019 16:24

Mario cart definitely..
With wheels!!

MajorasMask · 18/12/2019 16:26

I don’t have any DC but me and DH love the Switch!! Grin

Would definitely recommend Pokemon Sword or Shield if he has any interest in Pokemon. Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee also great (most people choose the Pikachu edition)

Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild is incredible

Mario Kart 8

Katamari Damacy Reroll - a bit of a left field choice and I think you can only buy a digital copy but basically you go around rolling up stuff in a massive ball, it’s very wholesome and fun!

Super Mario Odyssey also a solid choice

Hope that helps Smile

monstermissy · 18/12/2019 16:28

Avoid rocket league... mine loves it but gives h the rage 🙄

WarmSausageTea · 18/12/2019 16:31

Sorry to butt in, but @SpeedofaSloth and @Clymene can I ask about the Pokemon games? I enjoy the Pokemon Go app, but have never played a Pokemon console game - would you recommend either of the games you mentioned? If it makes a difference, I’m a solo player.

Thanks.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 18/12/2019 16:46

I have 11 year old DD and 9 year old DS and they like Super Mario Odessey, Mario Karts and Tennis Aces.

Clymene · 18/12/2019 16:48

@WarmSausageTea - I used to play the app with my DS when he was younger but he's got his own account now!

Anyway, from what I can see, it's lots of battling in gyms so I've never been that interested because I don't really enjoy the battling bit.

DS says that Let's Go is more linear and an easier experience for beginners who have never played a Pokemon console game before. Sword or Shield has a lot more content though.

Does that help? Grin

WarmSausageTea · 18/12/2019 16:58

Thanks, @Clymene, it does, as I’m not fussed about the battling. I’ll stick with the app, at least for now.

SpeedofaSloth · 18/12/2019 17:05

I'm not a gamer so I don't know what they are like to play, but DS was already keen on Pokemon (plays the card game at a local war gaming club sometimes, etc.). He likes Minecraft but prefers Zelda, so I'm guessing it's more like that?

Clymene · 18/12/2019 17:20

I love Zelda even though I don't like fighting. There's a lot to do which isn't fighting though.

Pokemon Let's Go is quite similar to Pekomon Go inasmuch as you have to do good throws to catch pokemon which you don't have to in most pokemon games. There's also puzzles to solve

ClinkyMonkey · 18/12/2019 17:49

My 11yo likes 'Hello Neighbor' (American spelling appliesGrin), 'Bendy and the Ink Machine' and 'Super Mario Odyssey'.

edgewater · 18/12/2019 17:51

Brilliant. Thanks everyone.

rosy71 · 18/12/2019 19:42

Ds2 says fifa 20. Personally, I love Mario Kart.

TulipCat · 18/12/2019 19:45

Got to be the new Pokemon Sword and Shield. According to my 11 year old, there are no other games!

MrsWombat · 18/12/2019 19:45

My 11-year-old has asked for Super Smash Bros Ultimate (he played it at a friends house) and also some Amiibo figures to go with it.

nevermindthebollox · 18/12/2019 19:55

My 10 year old says - Mario odyssey, legend of Zelda breath of the wild and mario maker 2

revelsandrose · 18/12/2019 19:56
