Today DD passed the Baby Jesus to Mary like a world-class scrum half

DD1 put baby Jesus face down and refused to turn him over when she was 4yo. She was cross because she wanted to be an angel with her best friend.

Love this.

My niece was a narrator in her nativity and when he speaking part rolled round. She stood up and shouted it at the top of her voice- no microphone needed! She has a gorgeous accent too, it was very cute.

What was dd in the nativity? Was there a midwife in your version?!

When DD was Mary she dropped Jesus.
After having a silent argument with Joseph as he kept trying to hand her presents when she was holding Jesus.

Was it being videoed? That would be an amazing thing to have for posterity.

She was an angel. Sadly no video, it would have been terrific to have for her 21st.

My son was very upset to be cast as Joseph in reception as he thought it meant he had to be married to the girl who played Mary FOREVER!!!!!!

When my niece was Mary, she and the Angel Gabriel engaged in a tug of war with the Baby Jesus, because the Angel Gabriel didn't want to let go. Then instead of laying him in the manger, Mary dropped him in, with a loud clunk, that was clearly audible on the video.

Did it go backwards? Otherwise I worry one of the three wise men would have to stop play and call a forward pass...with the shepherds and angels making up a scrum?

DS was asked to bring Baby Jesus down the aisle on Xmas Day (having been Joseph in the Nativity). He must have been 4 and was warned to behave...he did...but he tucked the doll under his arm with most of the pressure on its neck and marched on behind the vicar. Congregation looked at us and sniggered.

When DD was Mary she walked down the center of the hall banging The Baby Jesus' head of the chairs. The whole way down. She then sat on the edge of the stage and dropped him.

Did it go backwards?

I'll give you a blow-by-blow account.

• A narrator announces that the Baby Jesus was born that very night
• The piano starts up
• DD stands up, right on cue
• I start to bubble
• DD moves to front of stage, cradling him lovingly
• I am by now imagining her Oscar winner's speech
• Baby Jesus is fecked backwards
• DD pirouettes back to her space

My 4 year old was a king today.
He was supposed to say "we have presents for the baby"
Instead he said "but I want a present, it's my precious" (the second part in full on gollum voice) then dropped it on the babies head when his teacher motioned to him to put it down

DD was one of three Marys today. She had to walk with Joseph up the aisle of the church. They were speedwalking. Nearly missed it
